ZHIFU Jewelry Maintenance

Appropriate and timely maintenance will help your ZHIFU pieces retain their original condition as much as possible.
I. Careful Protection to Avoid Damage
Every piece of jewelry inevitably experiences wear and tear during daily wear. However, we can minimize or avoid long-term wear to maintain the luster of the jewelry and ensure its longevity.
Below are factors that may potentially damage your jewelry; please try to avoid them:
       1.  Physical Factors:  Impacts can cause stones to crack and lead to irreversible damage to the metal material.
       2.  Chemical Factors:  Contact with chemical substances may cause corrosion to stones or metals.
       3.  Water Quality:  Prolonged immersion in water may cause metal discoloration or deterioration of stones.
       4.  Beauty Products:  Residues from beauty products can affect the luster of the jewelry and may cause allergic reactions.
       5.  Light and Heat:  Prolonged exposure to light and high temperatures may lead to cracks or deterioration of stones.
       6.  DIY Cleaning:  Using inappropriate cleaning methods and insufficient repair skills can cause irreversible damage.
       7.  Storage:  Contact between metals, or between stones and metals, can lead to cracks in the stones or scratches on the metal.
II. Regular Inspections and Proper Storage
Develop a habit of regularly checking your jewelry. Inspect the structural components of the jewelry, such as the clasps on necklaces and bracelets, the connection points on ear clips and earrings, and the pins on brooches, to ensure they are functioning correctly. Check that the set stones are secure and that the connections are intact.
When removing jewelry for storage, place each piece separately in soft pouches and store them in the original packaging box received upon purchase, or in a jewelry box with soft padded dividers to prevent contact between metals and stones.
III. Jewelry Maintenance and Regular Cleaning
Proactive and proper maintenance is essential for protecting your jewelry and extending its lifespan. Therefore, we recommend the following maintenance methods:
       1.  Regular Home Care:  This includes rinsing with clean water, wiping with a soft cloth, and storing pieces separately.
       2.  Professional Cleaning:  We recommend visiting a ZHIFU store at least once a year or as needed for professional jewelry cleaning.
       3.  Repair Services:  Have your jewelry assessed by experts for its current condition, who will then recommend services such as repolishing, refinishing, or remaking as necessary.
